Integrated Moor Management
Any of the previously mentioned techniques can be used on their own but
combining them will enhance their value.
For example, precision cutting on the edges of the moor can be used to
create rums and snare sites for foxes, and trap sites for other predators
creating a 'cordon sanitaire' around the perimeter with additional sites
on the moor. Any traps, shown by the TA as needing a visit, can be visited
by altering the day's heather cutting route to the appropriate places, thus
making the fullest use of the keeper's time.
